Another wonderful post from Examining the Evidence: http://proverbs1817.wordpress.com/
“For which is a great nation that has a God who is close to it, as the Lord our God whenever we call to Him?” (Deuteronomy 4:7).
“The Lord is close to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely” (Psalm 145:18). “O Hearer of prayer, unto you does all flesh come” (Psalm 65:3).
“Trust in Him at every moment, O People! Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us, Selah” (Psalm 62:9).
All these words were spoken centuries before the advent of Christianity. The prophets assured us that our Father in heaven hears our prayers and answers them, if we but turn to Him with sincerity.
How then can we accept the claim of a man who says “… no one cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6)? This dark teaching is openly refuted by the words of the prophets.

Yash you ask:
How then can we accept the claim of a man who says “… no one cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6)? This dark teaching is openly refuted by the words of the prophets.
You reject Jesus because he taught dark things, which is the same as saying that Jesus was a tool of Hasatan. is it not?

Actually – the author of that blog wrote that, not me 🙂
I think we have very different opinions on satan – my idea of him is based on the Jewish Scriptures, where he is, in fact, a tool of G-d.
This post isn’t rejecting Jesus because he taught dark things. It is rejecting HIS TEACHING based on the words of the prophets.

I agree satan is a tool of God. Here are a few questions:
1. Do you think satan is a person?
2. Do you think he is evil – and the father of lies?
3. Does God ordain evil? Is “ordain” what you mean by “tool?”
4. With regard to Jesus, you say he taught falsely. Does that make him a liar?
Thanks Yash. I like our discussions very much. Keeps me on my toes.

1. Do some of my university lecturers count? If not, then no 🙂 Every time I see satan mentioned as a ‘being’ in the Jewish bible, its as a vision or parable – a force acting out G-d’s will.
2. No to evil. I dont know what ‘father of lies’ means – but I’m guessing no to that as well.
3. Isaiah 45:7
4. Well – the accounts written about him say that he taught that no one comes to the father except through him. This is refuted by the Jewish prophets as written in my post above…would teaching something that is not in line with the Jewish Bible make someone a liar? I dont know – it could mean one of many things: that he wasn’t so familiar with the texts, or that his students mis-interpreted what he said, OR with time, his teachings got skewed (bearing in mind that this account of his teaching was written many years after he said it).
I’m sure there are other explanations as well.
I enjoy our discussions too!

Israel
I responded to Rabbi Eli here (I wonder if he’s the same Rabbi Eli I know from PalTalk?)
My response (if Yehoshua is the word of HaShem made flesh, that is, he’s essentially the corporeal manifestation of the Torah, then his statement that no one can come to the Father except through him makes a lot more sense):

I don’t know if Rabbi Eli reads these comments (he has commented on this blog before, which I am very pleased about) but I don’t know if he has time to watch every blog out there constantly.
As far as I am aware, he is usually quite busy helping Jews find the Truth.
So in a nutshell, if you want to communicate with him, then post on his blog (which is a great blog, by the way).
Oh – and in response to what you wrote here, these quotes from the prophets still disagree your assertion that Jesus is a human Torah and that there is no other method to get close to G-d than by believing in jesus.
